About the event

yule log traditions: honoring the light’s return

As the longest night of the year approaches, we gather to honor the turning of the wheel; a moment of deep rest, reflection, and the quiet promise of returning light.

Indulge in an evening of story and craft as we explore the ancient yule log traditions of the Scandinavian peoples and the Indigenous ways of honoring the winter solstice.

We will share the history and symbolism of the yule log, how it came to represent warmth, protection, and the eternal flame of life through the darkest season.

We will also speak about how different cultures have honored the light during this time, from communal fires to offerings of herbs, wood, and intention.

After our discussion, you will be guided in crafting your own yule log, a piece imbued with your personal meaning and intention for the new solar cycle, to burn during your own…
